i think it's really remarkable and i think we all now recognize with hurricane sandy, with the inclement weather and the winter we're having now that climate change and renewable power and local energy provision is paramount and we need to main ain and amplify that commitment as a city. i also continue to have my eye on the prize of the local build out and the promise of that because i think not only is the job opportunity great, and all kinds of implications around work force training and at the local level and diversify that source and needs to be local and hurricane sandy has shown us that. that if there were nor localized power 4,000 people wouldn't be out of power right now so i am supportive of moving forward as quickly as possible with the education and outreach that needs to happen. i also concur with president torres and this is organic and evolving and this financing piece is really an important discussion to have and i would welcome having that with the lafco to talk about if the possibility of local build out over this four year contract could reduce the rates and the questio

please help the victims of hurricane sandy on the east coast. their need, the winter here is relatively mild compared to what they're experiencing on the east coast. those harsh winters is the reason why i did my four years of college and i came right back to the west coast. coleman advocates and the board of education commissioners, i know with vice president rachel norton, sandy -- stepped with us on the steps today for the cities to step up and support the most vulnerable high school students that are in danger of not graduating, i think about 1900 students as the chronicle stmed two days ago. but i am sensitive to supervisor campos' comments about the potential threats to the rainy day fund and imhoping with the week's continuance that we try to work on this issue. i know -- lee, one of the -- and sf usd has developed an action plan to make sure students have potential to meet a through g, csu requirements that we support as many people as we can with not only after school programs but on line and other types of supplemental support so that we maximize our support so we make sure students don't fall through the cracks and they could earn their diplomas for high school. i agree with supervisor olague that this is a issue about equity. it's about supporting not only african-american and latino high learner high school students as well and i think it's an impo
